    Lifetime Achievement Honour
    Roll​

    1. All Western Australian nurses and midwives are eligible for nomination.
    2. Nominees must be currently employed in a Western Australian based, health-related setting and be currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
    3. Only one category can be selected for each nominee.
    4. Completed nominations are to be received no later than 4pm (WST) on 16 December 2024. Nominations received after this deadline will not be accepted.
    5. All nominations will be treated with the strictest of confidence. All nominations are to be made online by submitting via the awards website at www.wanmea.com.au. A paper based nomination for the Consumer Appreciation category ONLY is available and can be requested by calling 6373 2234.
    6. Completed paper-based Consumer Appreciation nomination forms can ONLY be submitted by post to PO Box 8172, Perth Business Centre, WA 6849. Faxes, couriers and emails will not be accepted. Please keep a copy of your receipt when submitting online or date/time of postage as proof of nomination.
    7. All nominations must be the original work of the author and factually accurate.
    8. Nurses or midwives who were recipients of an award in 2024 are not eligible for nomination within the category in which they received their award. However they are eligible for nomination in all other categories.
    9. Nominators will receive an acknowledgement of receipt of the nomination. If this is not received, your nomination has not been received.
    10. All nominees will be notified of their nomination and then later advised as to whether they have been short-listed for consideration as a finalist.
    11. The Short-listing and Judging Panels consist of members with extensive experience in nursing and midwifery. The short-listing panel decides on the nominees for each category. The Judging panel decides on the winner(s) of each category and the 2025 Nurse/Midwife of the Year. Interviews are no longer conducted as part of the judging process for these categories.
    12. The overall winner of the 2025 WA Nurse and/or Midwife of the Year award will be selected from the award category winners. All winners will be announced at the Gala ball.
    13. The selection of the finalists, award winners and 2025 WA Nurse and/or Midwife of the Year will be conducted under the supervision of the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office. The decisions of the short listing and judging panels will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
    14. Prior to 2010 the Western Australian Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards (WANMEAs) were conducted by the Nurses and Midwives Board of WA. With the move to national registration, the WA Minister for Health delegated coordination of the WANMEAs to the WA Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office. The Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office established broad-industry professions reference and operational committees to guide this process.
    15. The Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office provides formal administration of the WANMEAs .
    16. All nominations submitted become the sole property of the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office and will not be returned, including any photographs or any resources sent.
    17. The Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office reserves the right to use all or part of any material (photographs, submissions or any detail) generated for the purpose of these Awards for any publicity related to the WANMEAs.
    18. It is a condition of entry that finalists and winners are available for publicity opportunities, which may include advertising features and interviews with in-house or external print, digital or TV media. Contact details of finalists and winners may also be shared with sponsors.

    8. Nominations are confidential and under no circumstances should the nominee be contacted for any information or told about their nomination.
    9. An independent advisory body (WA Nursing and Midwifery Lifetime Achievement Council) meets annually to consider all nominations and make recommendations to the WA Minister for Health on who should be inducted onto the Lifetime Achievement Honour Roll.
    10. Recipients are advised in writing only if they have been invited to be inducted to the Lifetime Achievement Honour Roll. The honour will be announced formally to the public at the Gala Dinner.
    11. The selection of the finalists, award winners and the inductee (s) of the Lifetime Achievement Honour Roll will be conducted under the supervision of the WA Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office. The decisions made will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
    12. The Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office provides formal administration of the Western Australian Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards.
